The majority of our students study four academic subjects in Year 12 and three subjects in Year 13.
The subjects taught at Lewes Old Grammar School are: Art, Biology, Chemistry, Design Technology, Economics, English Language, English Literature, French, Geography, German, History, Mathematics and Further Mathematics, Physical Education, Physics, Politics, Psychology, Religious Studies and Spanish.
These subjects are taught in groups big enough to enable group discussion and debates, yet small enough to offer individualised support to every student.
Student in the 6th form are expected to be committed to their studies and fully engaged to the broader life of the School. They have dedicated study rooms, with computers where they can work and research; they also have access to daily newspapers (English and Foreign).
Each student has regular meetings with their tutor or Head of Year to assess their progress and discuss problems they may have in dealing with the work load that A ‘level’ studies brings.
